Did you know…
Between 11/11/10, when the crime of strangulation was added to the NYS Penal Law, and 2/22/11, a total of 2,003 people were charged with felony and/or misdemeanor crimes of strangulation. Many of these people would have only faced violation charges before this law’s passage.
